Project:
North and South Harbour Storm Damage Repairs
Client:
ASCO Ltd
Location:
Peterhead
Value:
circa £3m
Timescale:
28 months

Following a combination of conditions described a highly unusual combination of tidal forces, strong winds, sea state and atmospheric pressure which brought conditions not experienced in some communities in decades the port of Peterhead suffered extensive damage to on shore buildings, quay walls and other quayside installations.

We were contacted by the American International Group UK (AIG UK) to attend and advise them and their Client ASCO Ltd on all aspects of the damage suffered at both the North and South Bases that form the larger Peterhead Harbour facilities as a result of the well documented storms that affected the north east coast of Scotland. ASCO Ltd operate out of both north and south bases at Peterhead providing key logistics services to the north sea oil industry.

Repairs to quayside buildings were straightforward but specialist non disruptive testing techniques were used for inspections and assessments of storage tanks and diving contractors were engaged to undertake inspections, assessments and repairs on damaged quay walls.
